Spring is for Kites

These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago but I haven't had a chance to get the post done yet :) Duffy hasn't really flown a kite before this year and my fantastic sister took him to buy a kite. Luckily my class got cancelled that night and I got to see him fly it. He loved it so much and is still talking about it. I can't wait until we get another semi-warm, kite-flying day so that Joey can see it too. Of course, Maisy was just her cute little self, smiley and happy.

Not to Brag, Well Maybe

*Warning:This is a journal post so if you don't want to read my mushy story I suggest you don't read this one :)
Tonight as Joey and I were watching American Idol I had to go get formula right in the middle of the show. When I came back Joey said he had a new song for me. He had this look on his face, and he's usually a very sarcastic person so I said "Great". Then I listened to Anoop and it made me cry. We have heard the song a million times before but hadn't really listened to the lyrics. The song is "You Were Always on My Mind" and the lyrics are as follows:
Maybe I didn't love you
Quite as often as I could have
Maybe I didn't treat you
Quite as good as I should have
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

Maybe I didn't hold you
All those lonely, lonely times
And I guess I never told you
I'm so happy that you're mine
If I made you feel second best
Girl I'm so sorry I was blind
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

Tell me, tell me that your sweet love hasn't died
Give me, give me one more chance to keep you satisfied, satisfied
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

Some of you may know that Joey and I went through some very hard times and it has been a long road back for us, but I am so grateful that I have him in my life.
Joey, I love you more than I can say. You are the only one I could ever be truly happy with. I'm your's forever.

Just FYI

So-some of you may have noticed that I wrote a little note to Duffy on my last post. Some of my friends and family do a "journal" blog that I have decided to start too, in hybid form. Since I don't write in a regular journal but really want my family to know how much I love them every day I am going to start writing personal notes along with my regular posts. I hope these blogs will last for a LONG time so that one day my kids can read my posts and see how much fun I had with them. Maybe one day I will get a regular journal but until then, this will have to do!

Movin' on Up

My little kiddos are growing up so fast! This weekend we decided it was time to move Maisy out of our room and into Duffy's-which meant that we needed to get a "big boy bed" for Duffy to sleep in so Maisy could have the crib (we have a crib that converts to a toddler bed which is what he has been sleeping in). We found the cutest twin bed and Duffy just loves it! I haven't done the bedding for it yet so ignore the fact that its just his blankie :) It was in a few pieces (not bad though) so Joey and Duffy got out the tools and put it together. Joey let Duffy push the trigger on the drill and he thought he was so cool putting all the screws in. He thinks he's Handy Manny!

Also, for the last few weeks I have been looking online for cute bedding for Maisy. I have wanted a cute girly bed for her since she was born and am so happy with what I found. Joey didn't really want me to buy new bedding for her, but I couldn't help it! I took one pic of her in the crib her first morning after sleeping there but my camera went dead and I can't find the charger (grr) so there's only one-sorry!

All tucked in for bed

Duffy and "Tonguey" (he named it, by the way)
Duffy and Daddy
Me and my little man, I can't believe it!

Maisy just watched from the floor :)

Mr. Personality

Duffy is getting more and more (umm, how do I say it?) Independent lately which can get very frustrating for me and the rest of the family. He has enough attitude for all of us but luckily he is so very cute and is very very funny also! Right now we are trying to potty train (not going very well) and we will be moving him into a big bed so that Maisy can start sleeping in the crib instead of in her bassinet in our room, this should make for some adventures ahead :) I have heard that "3" is the new "2" (you know, terrible) and the closer we get to his birthday the more I believe it. The other day we were at my parent's house and he was on one of his customary rants, my mom was trying to be the peacemaker that she always is and was really trying to calm him down. Well Duffy wasn't having any of that and he told her "No, I'm throwing a fit!!!" It was hard to understand what he was saying but my mom figured it out and asked him if that was really what he was saying and he said "YES!" We all tried really hard not to laugh at him, but how could we not? Duffy, you are such a fantastic little man, I love you more than anything and even though I can get really frustrated now I don't ever want you to change, I can tell you are going to be a great person forever. Love you Mr. Bear!

Vote For Me!

We went to the Safe Kids Fair on Friday and even though it was insanely crowded we had fun. Aimee came with us and the kids love her so it made for a good day. Duffy got his face painted like a Dragon (his choice, and I thought it was perfect!). It's actually for a contest to win a trip to San Diego-the kid that gets the most votes on kosy.com wins so I am shamelessly begging for all of my friends and family to go to kosy.com starting March 4 (Wednesday) and vote for our favorite dragon-I think he will be number 119. The pic on their website won't be as cute because he got all grumpy when the guy was taking his picture, of course!
Also at the fair were a ton of other kid things, snakes, firemen, policemen, toys to play on etc. I think Duffy had a really good time and I got a few cute pictures out of it :)
