St. George May 2009

We went to St. George with our friends Jennie and Brady and their two boys a couple of weeks ago. It was kind of a birthday (Brady's) slash anniversary (ours) trip. We had so much fun in the sun! Most of our time was spent at the pool where Maisy got to show off her very cute first swimsuit, thanks to Grandma O. unfortunately I left her bikini home so Grandma B's swimsuit will have to be in the next batch of swimming pictures. For Brady's birthday we went to Fiesta Fun Center where we rode bumper boats (which squirt at you, hence the funny pic of Joey and Duff), went mini-golfing, played in the arcade, rode go carts, and watched Duffy drive his own taxi! It was really warm and really fun!

More Fun at Grandma and Grandpa's

We are so lucky that my parents live so close! Their yard is pretty much Duffy proof so during warm weather we go over and he loves to play while I get a little break! These are just some random pictures from our fun over there so far this spring. Maisy's first time on the swing, the kids loaded up in the bike trailer (also a first for Maisy), Duffy helping stain the wood for the swingset, and Maisy eating a plastic snake (gross!). As you can see from the top right corner Maisy is standing up to things, and has been for a while. She's even getting brave and letting go for just a second sometimes. She loves to be the VCR, TV, DVD, Wii repair man and that's what she was doing here, it's getting to the point we are constantly moving her away from things she can't touch.

Finally, the Birthday Pictures!

This year for Duffy's birthday we knew it wasn't going to be great warm weather so we decided to do an indoor birthday, and had a great birthday party at the bowling alley. We invited family and a few of Duffy's friends and their parents (our friends). Even Grandma and Grandpa "Great" came to join in the fun. We bowled, ate pizza, opened presents, played mini golf, and played the arcade games. Duffy even won the jackpot all by himself on one of the games and got over 1,000 tickets! He got a snake, RC car, treats, and a little thing for Maisy with all his tickets. He didn't really know it was a big deal but all of us were excited! He got some great, fun gifts also, thanks everyone! He loves all of them and Grandpa B was even spotted checking out the air compressor he got from Grandma O, he's just a kid at heart. It was a blast and Duffy hasn't stopped talking about it, he keeps asking when he's having another birthday.
One more thing about my big boy being 3: We had been telling him that the "binky fairy" would be coming to take all his pacifiers the night of his birthday, since that's when the dentist said we needed to do it by and I have had too many other things to deal with to do it before (big bed, potty training, etc.) plus it made it kind of a special occasion. So he got a dollar under his pillow for giving all of his binkies to other little boys who needed them (not really, I just threw them away!). He has been struggling a little bit with this, not so much at night, which was the only time he had it, but he steals Maisy's during the day and has been getting in trouble for it. One day my mom and sister were talking to him about being a big boy because he was three and he said to them "I don't want to be 3, take my 3 off of me!" If only it was that easy! I love him more and more every day, he is learning so many new things and is so smart. Again, I can't believe it's been three years but I hope the adventure keeps going just how it has been!

Easter Fun 2009

We had so much fun with Easter this year since Duffy is getting old enough to really enjoy it and it was Maisy's first! These top pictures are all from the day we colored eggs at Grandma and Grandpa B's house. They bought Duffy a fancy egg tong that was super easy for him to handle so he got to do a lot by himself, which of course makes him happy! Once we were done coloring he ate one and wasn't too sure what to think but he eventually ended up liking them, good thing because we ate them for breakfast for a week! Maisy, again, was smiley and happy and finally fell asleep on Grandpa's chest. It reminds me of a cute picture I have of Duffy doing the same thing, sometimes she really does look like him! Duffy got his Easter present a day early from G-ma and G-pa and he LOVES it! It's Moonsand, which I remember from when I was little (never had it though, have you figured out he's a little spoiled?)! It comes with these dinosaur bones that you get to bury in rocks and pick out with the little pick that came with it, perfect present for a little boy!

Easter morning/day was also so much fun this year. The Easter Bunny brought sand pails as their baskets filled with all sorts of goodies: bug juice, bubbles, etc. for Duffy and a sippy cup, treats, juice, and curlers for Maisy. It was her first morning in curlers so I had to included a few pics of her cute hair. It was so cold that Duffy didn't even get to wear his Easter outfit, but Maisy's was so cute, it's just a little cotton dress and she had baby legs to keep her warm. It was windy out at the park so we fashioned a "bonnet" out of her headband and a burpcloth, turned out pretty cute didn't it! Both kids just loved the park and Duffy did great hunting down the eggs. I love holidays!

Starting to Catch Up

Since it's been so long since a blog with pics I will be catching up on a whole lot of fun! I tried to do slideshows but they won't post so I guess I'll just have to do collages, if you want to see the pics larger just click on the collage, it should work!

These are just some pictures I took on an "Art Adventure" trip I took to Salt Lake with my art class last month. We had a great time and these are some of my favorite pics from the cathedral and library.
